The ideals of Reiki are a guideline, a state of consciousness towards which each practitioner tends in order to move towards more unity in his own life but also in order to live fully and more than ever the practice of Reiki.

Is Reiki akin to a religion or a sect?

No. Reiki is neither a sect nor a religion and it cannot be related as such.

This simple and powerful technique is not there to confine or indoctrinate since it promotes autonomy through practice on oneself, as well as the freedom to be well with oneself, in respect and non-judgment of what that surrounds us. Reiki is complementary to all therapies whether traditional or not.

It is advisable to avoid any person or organization claiming to hold the true and only Reiki as well as the original teaching. Also avoid people advising you to stop or reduce any medical treatment in court, only your doctor or specialist has the right to do so. Know that Reiki does not need any belief system to be effective. Keep your discernment!

Can Reiki transmit bad energies?

No, Reiki cannot transmit bad energies. Anyone who tells you otherwise is not practicing Reiki. When we talk about Reiki, it is about Universal energy, it cannot be modified. There is therefore no risk of transmitting bad energies. Even if Reiki itself is immutable, some practitioners can transmit more or less good energies. This is why it is essential to choose the right practitioner.

What is the difference between Reiki and magnetism?

Every person emits magnetism because it is actually our personal store of energy. The magnetizer will draw on his own energy to transmit it to another person. It is very effective, but you have to know your own functioning well in order to be able to recharge your “batteries” and not take on the various ailments of the person.

Reiki works in a different way. The Reiki practitioner taps into the Universal Energy that surrounds us daily. It is this that will be transmitted during the Reiki sessions and not the energy of the person.

If I feel nothing during or after a session?

The feeling is unique to each person. Some people will feel what is going on in their body, while others will not feel anything at all. Note that this does not mean that nothing is happening. Reiki will work whether you feel it or not. It is a matter of listening and paying attention. Paying too much attention to what we feel can sometimes block our feelings and very often we do not listen enough to our body to notice what we feel. However, this does not change the effectiveness of Reiki.
